This module introduces the practice of culturally responsive teaching and supports teachers as they learn the effective mindsets and practices to use in the classroom. Estimated time to complete: 45-60 minutes

This module is related to NEE Indicator 2.6b

At the end of this module, participants will be able to manage time, space, transitions and activities so that:

• Engage students in authentic communal work allowing all to have a role and contribute

• Involve students in utilizing culturally responsive strategies

• Facilitate students' reflection on and questioning of situations using several lenses/perspectives

• Treat all impartially and with respect leading students to do so as well

• Establish classroom rituals and routines to support socially safe cultural learning

• Seek input from all students to identify their needs

• Create a classroom environment where students frequently use strategies as independent learners
