Module Objectives

Open communication between teachers, students and parents is essential for student success. This module examines the importance of effective communication and the ways that technology can support the process. Estimated Time To Complete: 30-45 Minutes.

At the end of this module, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the research-based reasons for establishing effective lines of communication with students and parents

  2. Identify key practices for successful school/home communications

  3. Evaluate and select communication technologies to meet the needs of the classroom, students and their families

  4. Use communication strategies and technologies appropriately and effectively to support student learning

  5. Model and incorporate student use of communication technologies into classroom instruction appropriately and effectively
