Modeling

Module Objectives

Teachers conduct a think aloud when they model the thinking required for comprehension during reading, while solving problems or completing a process. This activity explains the reasons for its effectiveness and how to use the strategy with students. Estimated time to complete: 20 minutes.

This module is related to NEE Indicator 4.1

At the end of this module, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the importance of modeling the thinking required by students within a content area

  2. Identify the steps to planning and conducting a think aloud

  3. Plan and use think alouds effectively
