Educators currently favor inquiry- or problem-based instruction over explicit teaching. This module explores the research on the effectiveness of the strategies and the best practices for their use. Estimated time to complete: 45-60 minutes.

  1. Determine when direct instruction and explicit teaching are best suited for the learning to be accomplished

  2. Sequence skills to be taught so that students can master eac step
