Module Objectives
The Teacher Professional Development Plan (TPDP) is designed to guide a teacher's professional growth throughout the school year. Many states require that classroom teachers and teaching specialists complete a TPDP. A new TPDP may be required each school year or in some cases may be continued through a second school year.
The TPDP goals for growth are intended to be based on the needs of the individual teacher. This allows each teacher to personalize the focus of their work on the skills and instructional practices that they most need to improve or in which change is desired. In cases where the teacher's instructional practice is acceptable in all areas, the growth might be planned for acquiring a new skill or knowledge base.
The activity in this module describes each step in the TPDP process. Open the activity below to explore the explanation of the teacher and administrator actions required in that step.
