Self-Evaluation and Peer-Coaching

Module Objectives

Teachers who use strategies for self-evaluation and peer-coaching are more likely to improve their level of instructional effectiveness. This module presents the research findings and best practices on these tools. Estimated time to complete: 45-60 minutes.

This module is related to NEE Indicator 8.1.

At the end of this module, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the relationship between effective teaching and student success

  2. Describe how self-evaluation supports improved instruction

  3. Relate at least one way to self-evaluate teaching effectiveness

  4. Explain how to use an audio or video recording for self-evaluation

  5. Describe how peer-coaching can support improved instruction

  6. Share the best practices for peer-coaching
