Relationships with Students

Module Objectives

Activities in this module focus on the boundaries that must be put in place to ensure that appropriate teacher-student relationships are formed and maintained. Estimated time to complete: 30-45 Minutes.

This module is related to NEE Indicator 8.3

At the end of this module, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify and understand the professional expectations for teachers with regard to their relationships with students.

  2. Identify acceptable methods to foster positive, professional relationships with students.

  3. Recognize situational vulnerabilities and identify the point at which to seek appropriate professional assistance.

  4. Define the appropriate teacher-student boundaries.

  5. Identify potential consequences for interacting with students improperly or engaging in inappropriate relationships with students.
