Module Objectives

This module focuses on the unique challenges presented by the diverse makeup of today's schools. Becoming aware and considerate of the diversities present in classrooms helps the teacher maintain an ethical environment. Estimated time to complete: 30-45 minutes.

This module is related to NEE Indicator 8.3

At the end of this module, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify the professional expectations for working with diverse populations of students, parents and colleagues.

  2. Identify techniques teachers can use to ensure that the classroom environment promotes respect for students’ individual needs and backgrounds.
