Teachers who understand the ways that poverty can affect learning and behavior are better able to help students succeed. This module provides research findings, brain connections and specific strategies for use in the classroom. Estimated time to complete: 45-60 minutes.

At the end of this module, participants will be able to:
- Become familiar with the research findings concerning the effects of poverty on student learning.
- 
    Identify the supports that are effective for improving achievement among low SES students. 
- 
    Identify instructional strategies that prove to be effective in supporting learning for students who live in poverty.
