This module explores the role that practice plays in student learning and how homework, grading and formative assessments interact to support achievement. Estimated Time To Complete: 60-80 minutes.

At the end of this module, participants will be able to:

  1. Define focused practice and explain how it contributes to student achievement

  2. Reflect on current grading practices and consider how they serve to support or undermine learning

  3. Define instructional traction and explain how it assists teachers who utilize the practice

  4. Explain how error analysis can be used to support student learning

  5. Conduct a process of error analysis using student work
