Introduction to Assessment Literacy

Module Objectives

This module presents the basics that classroom teachers need to understand in order to make effective use of student assessment and the data it generates. Estimated time to complete: 50 to 75 minutes

This module is related to NEE Indicator 7.1, 7.3, 7.4

At the end of this module, participants will be able to:

  1. Monitor the effects of instruction on individual and class learning

  2. Ensure assessment are effective, valid and reliable

  3. Identify the reports that are generated by student assessment

  4. Interpret the data gathered through student assessment

  5. Use the data from student assessment to improve learning

  6. Promote student-led assessment strategies
